I have prepared the following courses for Westchester Community College. I can tailor any of these topics to fit a smaller group or shorter time frame for you. Please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org to talk about the possibilities.
In the fall, I will be offering non-credit workshops on fairies, the tarot, and angels at Westchester Community College. Each of these workshops includes an interesting blend of intellectual history, folklore, and personal experience. For more information, please see the Continuing Ed website: http://www.sunywcc.edu/continuing-ed/ce/ or call them at 914-606-6830.
From Wednesday, September 16-October 7, my course on fairies, “Fairies: The Earth’s Guardians,” will meet from 6:30-9:30 PM at the Valhalla campus of WCC.
Course Description: Join a folklore scholar, fairy guide, and professional psychic in exploring the delightful natural world of the fairies. This course draws from ancient Celtic history, pre-Christian religious beliefs (such as ancestor worship and nature spirits), folklore about the “Good People,” New Age beliefs about fairies, and personal testimony. Course meetings will include a combination of historical/scholarly background and real-life stories about fairies. Students who wish to do so will have the opportunity to contact the fairies and conduct fairy readings for themselves. The course will prove especially fascinating for people interested in Celtic culture, folklore collectors, nature enthusiasts, animal lovers, or “environmental warriors.”
From Saturday 9/19 – 10/10, my course on the tarot, “Tarot as a Means of Spiritual Development,” will meet from 9:30 – 12:30 at the Valhalla campus of WCC.
Course Description: Join a professional psychic, tarot reader, and occult historian for a workshop accessing “higher wisdom” through card divination. The course will discuss the tarot from earliest appearance in 15th century Italy, through the 18th century occult revival, to its resurrection in the Victorian spiritualist movement, to the 21st century New Age movement, while also allowing interested students to master the technique of tarot divination for themselves. This course will draw from intellectual history, art history, 19th century occult culture, New Age writings, and my 30 years of experience as a tarot reader. Each course meeting will include both historical background on the tarot along with “hands on” practice with tarot divination.
On Tuesday 11/10, 11/17, 12/1, and 12/8 my course on angels, “Angels, Divine Messengers,” will meet from 6:30-9:30PM.
Course Description: Join a professional psychic, angel guide, and intellectual historian for a fascinating exploration of heavenly messengers from their earliest appearance in ancient times, through the modern era into the 21st century New Age movement. This course will draw from religious history, biblical literature, art history, folk belief, New Age writings, and personal testimony. Students will also have the opportunity to refine their own ability to contact the angels via prayer, meditation, and angel card readings.
